Job Title: Engineer III, Software Test

About Team:

Providing outstanding product development services to Thermo Fisher Scientific Global Business Units, is one of the core functions of the India Engineering Center (IEC). This Global Research and Development Center, established in 2009, is located in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, with over 150 employees. We are a team committed to develop innovative and groundbreaking technologically sophisticated products ranging from laboratory equipment, analytical instruments, remote monitoring solutions, chromatography and mass spectrometry. How will you make an impact?

As part of Thermo Fisher Scientific you will work on a team that develops software to support scientific instrument research and development. As part of an agile scrum team, you will play a key role in crafting an outstanding user experience for our customers around the globe.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop software test cases for embedded device and PC.

• Practice software quality assurance process and deliver defect free test automation code for production

• Implement, Record test results, update and communicate the defects back to software development team

• Develop test scripts to simplify software test methodology and automate manual testing.

• Setup test environment and ensure continuous product testing

• Work with Agile methodologies and Comfortable working with CI/CD environments

• Work with global software team members to deliver high-quality tested software applications to schedule and specification.

• Ability to work with team and independently.

Education Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Computer Science / Equivalent)

Experience:

• 11 to 13 years of experience in relevant software industry.

• Proven test script development experience using Python programming.

• OOPS fundamentals / code reusability

• Coding guidelines and standard processes.

• Very good with software quality assurance process and practices, including working with test requirements, test coverage and engaging in process improvements

• Experience with any test management tools (TestRail),

• Worked with any CICD tool (Team city build server & Jira tools).

• Experience with Linux & Windows platform.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiencies and other requirements:

• Tools: Git/SVN, GitLab, GitHub, Confluence, Squish/ Test complete/Selenium/X-ray

• Experience with embedded and PC application software testing

• Having worked with VM’s/ docker would be an added advantage.
