Position: Business Head – Surface Transportation business
Role: Responsible for P&L Management, including Strategy Development & Execution for the Surface Transportation Business.
Education: Bachelors – Mandatory, MBA / PGDM / Masters will be an added advantage
Location: Bangalore
Experience (In Years): 15-20 years
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will be primarily responsible for handling all matters of the Surface Transportation business and its P&L. His functional responsibility will include Strategy & Business Development, Go-to-Market analysis, Operations, quality and maintenance, supply chain, product pricing and customer service, etc.
The incumbent should be well experienced in the above field.
FOLLOWING WILL BE KEY DELIVERABLES –
Ø Finalization of Short-Term & Long-Term Strategies and Business Plans in association with Strategy & Finance functions.
Ø Ensuring Growth in terms of production and turnover. Accountable for P&L of this business.
Ø Mapping the Demand-Supply.
Ø Guiding team to manage day to day execution, planning, network expansion and carrier management. Building relationships with carriers and various internal and external stakeholders.
Ø Assisting Strategy function in evaluating various growth opportunities in the Surface Transportation space.
Ø Continuously mapping Competition and Sales Pricing considering the competitive scenario.
Ø Maintaining business relationship with key stake holders including Clients, vendors, Govt Departments and Local administration.
Ø Profitability Management, technical Service, Capex, Opex, Projects implementation including contracts negotiation.
Ø Supply Chain management, Operation excellence, R&D and New Product Development.
Ø Ensure compliance with all internal and external safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
Ø Implementation of latest technologies and innovative items in the projects.
Ø Creation and management of line haul schedule on a weekly/monthly basis managing contingencies.
Ø Conduct regular reviews of customer strategies to foster, retain, and expand relationships and accounts
Ø Champion the entire employee lifecycle, fostering development, engagement, and retention, while actively contributing to workforce management, talent acquisition, and compensation planning
Ø Leverage data-driven insights to drive business improvements, enhance results, and ensure efficient resource allocation
Ø Make direct contributions to team performance, business growth, and long-term success through your involvement with various accounts
Ø Ensure that internal and external perspectives guide business priorities, decisions, processes, and activities effectively
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL-SET –
Ø 15-20 yrs. experience in Logistics industry with leadership profile
Ø In-depth knowledge of Surface Transportation business & operations
Ø Pan-India market exposure a plus
Ø Developing team to drive changes at speed
