Position: Business Head – Warehousing business
Role: Responsible for P&L Management, including Strategy Development & Execution for the Warehousing Business.
Education: Bachelors – Mandatory, MBA / PGDM / Masters will be an added advantage
Location: Bangalore
Experience (In Years): 15-20 years
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –
The incumbent will be primarily responsible for handling all matters of the Warehousing business and its P&L. His functional responsibility will include Strategy & Business Development, Go-to-Market analysis, Operations, quality and maintenance, supply chain, product pricing and customer service, etc.
The incumbent should be well experienced in the above field.
FOLLOWING WILL BE KEY DELIVERABLES –
Ø Finalization of Short-Term & Long-Term Strategies and Business Plans in association with Strategy & Finance functions.
Ø Ensuring Growth in terms of production and turnover. Accountable for P&L of this business.
Ø Mapping the Demand-Supply.
Ø Assisting Strategy function in evaluating various growth opportunities in the Warehousing space.
Ø Continuously mapping Competition and Sales Pricing considering the competitive scenario.
Ø Maintaining business relationship with key stake holders including Clients, vendors, Govt Departments and Local administration.
Ø Profitability Management, technical Service, Capex, Opex, Projects implementation including contracts negotiation.
Ø Supply Chain management, Operation excellence, R&D and New Product Development.
Ø Ensure compliance with all internal and external safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
Ø Implementation of latest technologies and innovative items in the projects.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL-SET –
Ø 15-20 yrs. experience in Logistics industry with leadership profile
Ø In-depth knowledge of Warehousing business & operations
Ø Pan-India market exposure a plus
Ø Legal, Operational and Administrative Impediments of warehousing
Ø Good knowledge on WDRA is to work for growth and orderly development of the warehousing sector in the country
Ø Health and Safety at Work
Ø Inspections and Risk Assessments-task Analysis
Ø Understanding of ergonomics
Ø Keeping workforce engaged and motivated
Ø Health and Safety Risks at the Warehouse
Ø Awareness of the Potential hazards for workers in warehousing
Ø Good housekeeping inside the warehouse
Ø Inclusion of emergency notification systems
Ø Thorough Insurance Coverage
Ø Role of performance management in the warehouse, Establish an executive dashboard using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Ø Identifying, prioritizing and implementing improvements
Ø Minimizing Internal and external Theft
Ø Training: Employee training and self evaluations, Service Levels Skill development of Warehousing Staff
Ø Recruitment:
o Training: Despite the increasing use of machinery and equipment, warehouse workforce plays a crucial role in manufacturing and distribution chain nowadays. Qualities to be considered for recruiting workforce depend on nature of the task at the workforce.
o Hiring: When it comes to recruiting warehouse workforce for different positions, need to find and hire the best employees for the business
