Designation- Purchase Manager

A person would be responsible for the full spectrum of purchasing processes that includes supplier/vendor development for all kinds of material used in the making of various kinds of furniture i.e. steel, brass, iron and wood. He should have a natural neck to deal with suppliers and agencies with a commercial mindset able to negotiate effectively while maintaining mutually beneficial relationships. Vendor development, price negotiation, purchase order execution, timely delivery, stock optimization would be the key skills required. Prior experience in the Furniture manufacturing industry would be preferred.

Education- Graduate. Masters would be given preference.

Experience- minimum 10 yrs in manufacturing industry like furniture/automobile/Engineering/Jewelry (textile experience will not be considered)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Strategize, plan and implement sourcing and purchasing strategies.

• Search and develop potential suppliers and vendors across India.

• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.

• Work with suppliers, manufacturers and internal departments & sources within timelines.

• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.

• Negotiate lower pricing.

• Track, measure and analyze stock and Supplies.

• Adhere to laws, rules and regulations.

• Maintain a database of approved suppliers.

Key Skills:

• Proven working experience as Purchasing Officer

• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor development

• Interest in market dynamics along with business sense

• Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures

• Solid judgement along with decision making skills

• Hands on experience in budgeting and purchase management.

• Good communication, interpersonal skills

• Outstanding negotiation skills
