Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:
Full Time (48 hours per week, Monday- Friday; Regular Duty)

Duties
Basic Function of the Position: The position is located in the Defense Attaché Office (DAO) in the U.S. Embassy, New Delhi. The incumbent will serve as the administrative clerk, will assist the Senior Defense Official/ Defense Attaché (DO/DATT) and other DAO staff as required. S/he will draft unclassified correspondence in both English and Hindi. S/he will greet and assist visitor, prepare Attaches invitations and maintains distribution lists, makes car/hotel reservations for DAO/Temporary Duty Officers (TDYers)/ visitors, maintains files, social calendar for SDO/DATT and other office staff. S/he prepares, processes, and delivers correspondence under the SDO/DATT’s guidance, including diplomatic note requests for U.S. military over-flight and landing clearances to Indian Government and other associated agencies, ministries, and companies. S/he must be able to do simple translations between English and Hindi. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:
This position requires one year of experience in administrative field in law enforcement or military or private security or diplomatic mission.

Education Requirements:
This position requires completion of two years of college studies.

LANGUAGE:
Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required. This may be tested

Level 4 (Fluent) in Hindi (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
