Duties
Basic Function of the Position: The position is located in the General Services Office (GSO), U.S. Embassy New Delhi. Under the supervision of GSO Customs and Shipping Supervisor (C & S), the incumbent will be required to coordinate with Embassy personnel to schedule their pack outs and local moves and assist them in completing all of the associated formalities. S/he will be required to review invoices for packing and moving contractors, transport companies to verify the authenticity of the services received and submit to the supervisor to review. S/he will be required to arrange in-country moves for official shipments between the Consulates. S/he will be required to liaise with Embassy employees to assist them in determining their need for an Indian driver’s license in the absence of Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) Shipment Assistant. S/he will be required to submit Purchase Order/BPA (Blanket Purchase Agreement) requests in the Integrated Logistics Management Software (ILMS). S/he will serve as COR (Contracting Officer Representative). S/he will be required to assist in expediting clearances from Ministry, Excise Department and Police for 4th of July event and Marine Ball where alcohol and music is involved. S/he will be required to supervise and assign tasks to two shipment helpers. The incumbent will be required to supervise the rest of the staff in the absence of the Supervisor and Deputy Supervisor. The incumbent will be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: The position requires two years of work experience in customs clearance or shipping and transportation or logistics or three years of administrative work experience.

Education Requirements:
The position requires completion of Senior Secondary School (Class XII).

LANGUAGE:
Level 3 (Good working knowledge) in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required. This may be tested.

Level 3 (Good working knowledge) in Hindi (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Valid Indian Light Motor Vehicle driving license is required.

Please note: U.S. Government regulations require all Chauffeurs or Incidental drivers for official vehicles to be 25 years of age or older. We will not consider candidates below 25 years of age. Any applicant that possess a valid driving license issued for less than5 years will not be considered. Please note 5 years should have been completed by the Closing date of the vacancy. If the applicant had renewed their driver’s license they must include copy of old and current driver’s license in order for HR to confirm the issuance date. Applicants not providing old and renewed driver’s license (if applicable) their application will not be considered for the position.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
