Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:

Duties
The incumbent serves as the Telephone and Radio Technician for the U.S. Consulate General Chennai, managing all aspects of the post’s telephones and radio equipment and services. Reports directly to the Senior Radio and Telephone Technician. Ensures 24-hour serviceability and accessibility of Post’s telephone and radio network, overseeing the installation and training of personnel in its use. Serve as the liaison between the Local service providers for Telephone, Radio and cell phones to resolve issues or outages. Receive loanable and accountable property from General Services (GSO) receiving clerks and enter applicable data in the system. Update ILMS loanable property as needed to ensure accountability and effective tracking. Receive request for handheld radio and mobile device – iPhone, iPad, smart phones – issuance, prepare and complete all loanable property issuance paperwork.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Must have two years of directly related, progressively responsible experience in electronics or telecommunications.
Education Requirements:
Mandatory: Completion of Secondary School certificate (Class X) and minimum one year vocational diploma in a discipline related to Telecommunications, Electronics, or IT is required.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Consulate General, Chennai may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
