We’re looking for Software Engineer to:

• provide technology solutions that will solve business problems and strengthen our position as digital leaders in financial services,
• analyze Corporate Lending business requirements using user stories with the INVEST model,
• design, plan and deliver sustainable solutions using modern programming languages in a self-sufficient pod,
• providing technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing applications,
• conduct code reviews and test software, along with participating in application architecture and design and other phases of SDLC,
• see that proper operational controls and procedures are implemented to process move from test to production,
• train and guide the pod to complete high-quality increments that meet a definition of done while removing impediments so that the pod can deliver more effectively over time,
• motivate the pod on an agile mindset and embed Agile@UBS practices in your pod such as daily standups, sprint planning, review sessions, backlog grooming, retrospectives and reporting (e.g. sprint burndowns, burnups).

Your team
You’ll be working in a Corporate Lending IT team based out of Pune, India. The immediate role will be to get involved with the loan simplification project, which will consolidate and remediate the major loans platforms and architecture. This is a multiyear program of work which will involve working with cutting edge technology and engaging F2B across multiple teams and groups.
Your expertise

• strong exposure on Core Java, Spring, Spring boot, REST APIs and Microservices,
• experience with enterprise integration and messaging related technologies such as Kafka, JMS, and/or MQ ,
• exposure on Cloud integration and Container services,
• understanding of relational (Oracle, Sybase) databases, hands on experience using SQL to query relational databases,
• proven skills in performance tuning and quality improvements,
• exposure to OOP based UI Frameworks (ReactJS/AngularJS/NodeJS),
• extensive web testing experience and demonstrable end-to-end knowledge in this area (e.g. web architecture, database),
• excellent automation scripting skills, preferably Java for Selenium and Cucumber,
• experience with DevOps; continuous integration and delivery (Gitlab, Docker),
• exposure to java testing frameworks like JUNIT and TestNG,
• familiarity with TDD / BDD,
• excellent analytical skills and attention to detail,
• ability to interact with clients and technology partners in India/US/Europe locations,
• adaptable, able to work across teams, functions and applications,
• good understanding of the Scrum ceremonies and experience in tools such as GitLab, Jira, Confluence – ideally worked as a Scrum Master before,
• excellent communication skills both verbal and written; ability to communicate effectively with both technical/development teams and business stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or a related field,
