• Udhyam Vyapaar focuses on nano businesses in India, and solving large problems faced by them, at scale; having already enabled upto a 27% income uplift for 5000+ entrepreneurs.

About – Entrepreneurial Mindset Project (Schools):

At Udhyam we believe in the “learning by doing” approach. What better way to build entrepreneurial mindsets than trying entrepreneurship hands on?

‘Kaushalam’ an Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum (EMC) is a flagship program of the Uttarakhand state government, co-designed by Udhyam along with SCERT Uttarakhand. Kaushalam aims to empower students to take charge of their career paths in employment of entrepreneurship) and realize their full potential. It is a completely experiential curriculum, and it has a number of components including classes to build entrepreneurial mindsets, interactions with entrepreneurs and real-life business projects. The curriculum was launched in 2021, and is currently getting implemented in the 1000+ schools of Uttarakhand State Government. It has a reach of 1 lakh+ students from classes 9 to 11, and is facilitated and supported by approximately. 3,000 teachers.

We are scaling up an exciting model to enable students to try their hands at entrepreneurship where the students get seed money to develop a business idea into reality. Over the course of this program, the students work in teams, get inputs for coming up with ideas and receive requisite support to develop an idea into a viable business. The businesses also get assessed and the teams can advance to unlock mentorship and more resources.

To deepen our impact, we are designing a number of online and offline features for the program to improve content delivery, deepen implementation quality and widen mentorship. We are looking for a Manager who can lead the program, will be a part of the core team, will work closely with the government partners, Udhyam’s internal teams to maximize reach and impact of the program.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Operations: Lead the state project, Manage the entire set of business, oversee the big picture pertaining to the state. Responsible for end to end operations and delivery. Responsible for monitoring government regulations and guiding public policy.
• Stakeholder Management: Work with multiple stakeholders and build strong working relationships including government officials, partner organizations, resource persons, school principals and teachers. Serve as lead site coordinator.
• Program Strategy and Management: Define program goals and implementation strategy, prepare and execute project plan, define and evolve ownership areas of team members and stakeholders, regularly review progress and strategy
• Partnership- To add to Udhyam’s mission of ‘Making Uttarakhand Entrepreneurial’, exploring partnership opportunities outside the current school education system and create larger impact in the state
• Data Management: Create structures and build capacity within the team to collect and analyze implementation data and take data based decisions
• Promote Udhyam’s mission, values and organisational policies to all stakeholders.

Skills, Experience and Mindsets:

• Must be willing to be based in Dehradun throughout the duration of the project.
• 8+ years of experience working collaboratively with govt stakeholders on large scale programs.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Planning and Execution – Comfortable working with a diverse group of individuals to meet project objectives within established timelines; can effectively move from strategy to details in a seamless way
• Ownership – You, as an individual, are accountable for the quality and timeliness of the outcome, even when you’re working with others.
• Bias for action – Hands on with operations, willing to pilot and experiment with different strategies, interact regularly with students and various stakeholders across the state
• Comfortable working in a fast paced and ambiguous environment
• Experience in Education sector or Program Management Unit
• Comfortable with MS Office
