What you’ll learn & achieve:

Working closely with the Segment leader and Global team, the Engineer will be responsible for Project execution, Project management for various customer projects, Customer management and expanding UL Solutions Renewables Certification services worldwide.

Key responsibilities are,

• As an International by DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065 accredited Grid Code Compliance Certification Body you will be Part of a growing Team in a desirable business to ensure the Quality of produced electrical power by decentralized and renewable energies.

• You will gain deep Knowledge in International Grid Codes to perform evaluation of electrical characteristics of power generating units like wind turbines, photovoltaic inverters, CHP etc based on test reports and manufacturer’s technical documentation

• Evaluation of electrical characteristics of power generation systems like wind farms, photovoltaic power plants etc based on unit- and component certificates and specific technical documents

• Communication with manufacturers, operators, planners and, if necessary with grid operators

• Quasi-stationary and dynamic simulation of electrical characteristics of power generating units and power generating systems using dynamic simulation models in DIgSILENT Powerfactory (or MATLAB Simulink/SimPowerSystems)

• Model validation of submitted dynamic simulation models based on test results of a power generating unit

• Experience in Evaluation of Electrical Components and Control&Protection System Evaluation acc. international Standards like IEC61400 and IECRE is a plus

• Creation of high quality evaluation reports to document your results in a scientific way

• Perform other duties as directed

What makes you a great fit:

• Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Power System / Control System Engineering / Grid Integration, or any equivalent field

• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in the field of Grid Integration / Grid Code Compliance or evaluation of electrical components of wind turbines or renewable energy industry

• Knowledge of international Grid Codes and Evaluation of electrical characteristics of decentralized power generation unit and systems

• First Experience in commercialized modelling and simulation tools (for example DIgSILENTPower Factory, Mathworks MATLAB/Simulink and SimPowerSystems or similar)

• Experience in Simulation Model Validation acc. field test data

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Good communication skills (English speaking and writing)

• Customer focus, commitment, and independent work

• Strong technical aptitude and ability to work in a fast-paced certification environment

• Ability and willingness to develop and expand business
