About Function
This is a key leadership role with Unilever CMI based in Mumbai. You will play a key role in role in showing the business where and how to win, partnering Nutrition CMI teams across the globe.
Set up in 2017, the HIVE is an industry first, specialist team within the Unilever CMI team that boosts efficiencies and aims to make CMI more resourceful. The purpose of HIVE is “Creating and augmenting solutions at scale, that enable capability unlock and drive 4G growth”. Being the foundational team within Unilever’s CMI function, HIVE works with CMI teams across the globe and leads & undertakes a high proportion of innovation consumer tests involving early-stage ideas, concept/proposition, product and pack. One half of the work in the HIVE involves working with innovation projects across the world and leading quantitative mix testing projects viz.
Idea / idea screening tests –including running home grown / in house screening tools
Concept, Product & Concept product tests
Pack tests
Advertising – TV & digital – pre-testing
HIVE also acts as a capability augmenting arm and works closely with the business to develop custom solutions designed to address business pain points and unlock growth. Hence the other half of the work typically includes
Strategic Rewinds & deep dives to unlock growth Diagnostic deep dives focused on Brand Equity/ Mkt share / Penetration movements Custom solutions designed for easy access to performance management metrics (dashboards/mobile apps) Meta analysis to unearth growth opportunities AI enabled tools designed to optimise quality of stimulus to improve chances of success
Put simply, you will play a key role in shaping the complexion of how UL does insights at scale through the HIVE. In order to grow big, we need to think big. To support the aggressive HIVE growth agenda, you will have proven leadership skills, strong strategic rigour, be comfortable pushing back and managing senior stakeholders, proven experience in collaboration and knowing when (and who) to pull in different expertise, be able to decipher multiple information sources into a succinct story and point of view, experience in innovation & communication development, understand market & performance and have a diverse research background. We are looking for people who are future fit and have a strong balance of intellectual and emotional quotients.
We are looking to hire a senior resource in our HIVE Global Nutrition Team based in Mumbai HO.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the business to understand pain points and then devising solutions to address the same.
Lead/develop new techniques and technologies that can be standardized and scaled by HIVE, enabling cost and time efficiencies.
Upskilling to become category knowledge experts who can not only absorb, assimilate, and synthesize knowledge but also disseminate analysis and findings to drive business actions
Stakeholder management: this involves both internal stakeholders such as Marketing/CMI and other teams / contacts, along with key agency partners
Key Job requirements
At least 10+ years of experience in Insights & Research in FMCG; client-side experience of at least 4-5 years
Expert / hands on experience on mix testing consumer tools & techniques
Should have experience in stakeholder management.
Proven record of analysing and synthesizing data and information from different sources
Strong team player yet managing things independently.
Displaying a growth mindset – showcase ability to learn, grow, create impact and not afraid of taking risks.
