Positions in this function maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports. Performs account reconciliations and analyses, prepares journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles. Analyzes and prepares financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position. Involved in the monthly/quarterly ‘close’ process.

Primary Responsibilities:
Manage and review the monthly financial reconciliations related to Reserves and Claims accounts

Maintain the accuracy of the GL string with the valid Business unit and Operating unit

Reclass Journal entries based on the requirement

Recommend accounting entries to the general ledger and set up of accruals/ reserves based on the monthly reconciliations

Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses

Role Decisions & Impact:
Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports

Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close

Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles

Prepare documentation in Support of external and internal audits

Performs work in a self-directed manner

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Post graduation in accounting / Finance or its equivalent

Minimum of 2 + years of experience in Accounting

Working knowledge on basic and advanced Excel skills

Solid Accounting Background, Understanding of US GAAP revenue recognition principles

Good understanding of General Ledger and chart field attributes

Ability to develop and establish financial polices and procedures

Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports

Not afraid to ask questions, chase folks and ensure tasks are being completed on time

Good Interpersonal skills and Analytical skills

Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally

Preferred Qualification:
Good understanding of General Ledger and chart field attributes

Work Hours:
Regular Shift ( 11.00 am – 08.30pm IST ) and during month end close ( 5.45pm – 3.15 am IST)
