Primary Responsibilities:

The role of the Performance Quality Engineer is to establish performance requirements and produce high quality Load, Stress, Soak performance scripts, plans and associated documents. Performance engineering skills are required, and the candidate should be able to ensure the design, build, execute and monitor and analyze performance tests. Should provide accurate reporting on performance results as well as reporting and escalating risks and issues appropriately.

• Understand performance requirements, architectural dependencies at early stages

• Create high quality stress, load and performance cases and associated documents

• Design, build, execute and monitor performance tests

• Stakeholder reporting

• Escalate risks and issues appropriately to the leads

• Able to identify, procure and manage environments and data required for testing

• Define metrics, practices, processes, reports and tools to ensure delivery is managed

• Define and lead the Performance tuning/engineering parameters to meet the business expectations

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

• Experience in Performance testing and engineering, including experience of exposure to analyzing application performance

• Experience working on various monitoring, profiling, and tuning tools e.g., New Relic, CA Wily, HP Diagnostics, HP OpenView

• Experience of working with multi-cultural and geographically disparate teams

• Experience in stress, load, and performance testing of global and regional applications with ability to define and document performance testing requirements and scenarios

• Good knowledge of WebSphere / Cloud based Services and its performance counters

• Good knowledge in J2EE technology Strong knowledge and working experience of Telecom Sector

• Good knowledge of prevailing trends in testing domain for agile deliveries

• Knowledge of Agile software development life-cycle methodologies

• Knowledge on Jenkins, Docker & Kubernetes

• Understanding of multi-tiered architecture and good exposure to test home grown applications along with third party products in on premise applications, SaaS and cloud-based implementation

• Familiarity with the 5G ran and Network based testing

• Trouble shoot performance issues and suggest potential tuning parameters to product dev teams

• Defining test suit which includes benchmarking, load, soak tests Hands-on on Load Runner, JMeter etc.

• Ability to manage end-to-end performance engagements in “vendor” driven projects/engagements along with providing overall strategy, engagement, governance etc.

• Ability to accurately analyze performance results and present results and analysis in both technical and business language

• Ability to understand functional specifications from the customer perspective and design appropriate acceptance tests

• Ability to create and implement Performance automation frameworks in order to enable agile delivery

• Ability to analyze defects, spot trends and suggest corrective actions for early detection Experience of working in tight deadlines in a matured, risk-based and ‘time-boxed’ testing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• ISEB/ISTQB certification or equivalent

• Exposure to testing telecom based applications / apps

• Exposure to a varied environments and products like:

• J2EE technologies/the WebSphere family of products and Cloud based(AWS,GCP) Services

• Web Services, SOAP, XML messaging etc.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proven experience of liaison with stakeholders in international locations

• Excellent documentation skills Initiative in keeping abreast of changing industry practices, testing framework and methodologies, test tools Self-motivation is essential, should demonstrate commitment to high quality design and development and passion for testing

• Ability to develop & maintain working relationships with a number of stakeholders and senior professionals Flexibility and an open attitude towards change Problem solving skills with the ability to think laterally, and to think with a medium to long term perspective

• Ability to learn and quickly get familiar with a complex business and systems environment

• Willingness to travel overseas at a short-notice

• Willingness to work in different time-zones as require
