Mission

Within GTC Mechanical Material Lab team, the Test engineer will be responsible for Composite

material testing

In this role, the Test Engineer will be in charge of the carried out the Composite testing as per group

requirement, safe handling of Test equipment and promotion of good practices in Lab, implication of

standards, and to offer the right support to the Valeo Business Group teams.

Responsibilities

GENERAL ASSIGNMENTS

Within the assigned perimeter given by his department manager and project leader, perform

Composite testing by following company standards and regulations.

● Perform Mechanical, Characterization and Aging test as specified in the Test Request.

● Respect safety and quality rules defined by Group

● Management of Test request and responsible for receiving and storing of the test samples

● Write Test Reports in English – Provide technical advice and recommendations. Presentation

of results on PowerPoint ( If necessary)

● Active participate in Technical discussion with all stakeholders

● Responsible for the quality control of equipment used for analyses and tests

● Participate in the constant evolution of the laboratory from the point of view of quality and

technique

● Responsible to train the assigned personals

SOFT SKILLS

● Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate in English to an

international scientific audience.

● Good as a team member

● Good in Equipment and Lab maintenance.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

● Should have the strong knowledge in Composite materials as well as polymer materials (Both

Plastics & Rubbers)

● Should have the knowledge about Composite manufacturing process and Polymer Processing

including extrusion, injection, moulding and so on

● Hands-on experience in metrology and materials characterization.

● Should have good analytical experience (measurement and data)

● Must be aware about polymer structure property and processability relationships.

● Should have hands-on experience on material characterization including thermal analysis,

mechanical testing, TGA, DSC and FTIR.

● Know and follow safety practices in all areas of the workplace. Collect and dispose of

hazardous waste according to approved standards.

● Ability to work independently and ability to participate creatively in a collaborative team

environment.

● Must be aware about test standards and QMS, ISO17025 and so on.

● Ability to work on multiple tasks in a limited amount of time and to independently set priorities

to accomplish numerous tasks to meet deadlines.

● Ability to repeat tasks with constant precision

● Strong Basic Engineering knowledge
