Position Summary:
The SolarWinds Admin responsibility of providing expertise to leverage MIBs, OIDs, and WMI performance counters to diagnose and troubleshoot network problems, review business requirements, and improve monitoring of the Orion Platform. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure monitoring efficiency, and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements
A Certified SolarWinds Admin or competent professional with around 4-7 years of IT experience including 4+ years of extensive experience in Monitoring Tools & PowerShell scripting along with ITIL process like Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management.
Able to install, configure and administer SolarWinds components to include Network Performance Monitor (NPM), NCM (network Configuration Manager) and NTA (Network Traffic Analyzer)
Should have an expertise in SolarWinds tool implementation, migration, and administration on (NPM, NCM, NTA, WPM, VNQM)
Experience configuring monitors using SNMP, WMI, JMX and other technologies.
Should have ability to drive end-to-end implementation and/or upgrade of SolarWinds suite of products independently.
Experience in the operations, management, support, and administration of Monitoring tools (SolarWinds /Dynatrace etc.) for Network monitoring including server and application.
Experience with best practices for network monitoring including infrastructure and application
Experience in scripting like PowerShell
Experience in monitoring network devices and network performance
Good understanding of network environmental elements such VLANs, VPN, Protocols, routing, IP address schemes, bandwidth, network devices, etc.
Should be able to work closely with Tools Solution to technically validate the overall tools solution, suggest improvements, resolve technical queries, etc.
Open to work in 24×7 environment
Experience in developing and creation of dashboards and Provide expertise to define, monitor, and report on SLAs and maintain Life cycle management
Provide expertise to detect and verify performance issues and determine the scope of the performance issue
ITSM Tool Integration Experience using Web Services/APIs or 3rd party integration adapters.
Evaluating current and emerging monitoring tools and technologies and recommends these tools to management as appropriate
Education / Experience:
Educational requirements: Degree in computer science or equivalent
SolarWinds Admin Certification
ITIL Certification is a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Information Technology :
Research and make recommendations on monitoring products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Sound knowledge in Service development and Product Lifecyle management
Practical knowledge off anyone scripting language in PowerShell / Visual Basic / shell scripting
Expert in Incident and Problem Management processes and procedures.
Good knowledge of IT operations in challenging environments
Experience on integrations with ServiceNow event management.
Knowledge of industry best practices for infrastructure monitoring and regulatory compliance
Understanding of ITIL processes and best practice
Skills and personal attribute :
Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively to the teams as well as IT Executive Management
Excellent troubleshooting abilities
Critical thinking, Deductive thinking, Problem solving skills.
Must work well in a team environment
Formal training in conflict management and negotiations desired
Must be able to effectively lead self as well as others either directly or indirectly
Must be organized and meticulous in work
Must have strong reporting and analytical skills
Ability to communicate proficiently in English, both written and verbal
Must be highly motivated and have a positive attitude
Excellent listening and customer service skills
Understanding of SLA terms
Training: The post holder will be expected to undertake training to ensure that his/her skills are current
