At Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of the Metal of the Future, we aim to become the global best in our business, which spans the worlds’ largest smelters, mines, alumina refinery power plants and port. We operate a 2 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) capacity alumina refinery in Lanjigarh (Kalahandi district, Odisha) and an associated 90 MW captive power plant. This refinery is on a growth trajectory and poised to expand to 5 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) by FY24 and subsequently to 6 MTPA (million tonnes per annum), making it the world’s largest and best in class refinery.

The Opportunity

We are looking at hiring a passionate leader for the position of Head Public Relations and Corporate Communications for World’s largest Alumina refinery in Lanjigarh, Odisha.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing business unit’s positioning, strategy & communication plan to build positive perception amongst stakeholder groups.
• Responsible for creating content for internal and external audience including media.
• Maintain effective working relationships with local administration, government officials, media representatives & other stakeholders (i.e. opinion makers, NGOs etc.).
• Ability to work in close co-ordination with CSR, and External Affairs team for community & employee engagement.
• Develop the Annual budget of PR & Communication activities of the unit in a manner which is aligned to the group’s overall objectives.
• Responsible for leveraging social media & other digital/innovative platforms to reach out to opinion makers.
• Work in close coordination with the top management in relation to strategy development from an internal and external stakeholder management perspective.

Desired Attributes

• Qualification & Experience: A Master’s Degree in Public Relations/Mass Communication or MBA/PGDM in Journalism & Mass Communication or Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Science/Mass Communication
• Excellent verbal, written and social media skills
• Profound interpersonal & networking skills.
• Proactive stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in Odia language (written & spoken) will be an added advantage.
• 12-18 years (minimum of 6 years’ of extensive experience at a senior level in large manufacturing setup out of total experience)

Educational criteria (Mandatory)

• Minimum 60% and above in all academics
• No gap in education activities (only one year allowed either between 12th & Graduation or graduation & Post graduation)
• No gap in employment is preferred.
