Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing Global Finance Team. This full-time position will be responsible for a broad range of corporate finance responsibilities across the globe including the support of local financial and accounting reporting, oversight of daily operations for regional entities, assistance with the preparation of financial statements, tax returns and more. This individual will report to our Finance Specialist.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for handling end to end Accounts Payable process for the Global Finance team. This includes
• Initial preparation of accounts payable entries, including banking inputs for approval
• Payment entries/uploads in banking platforms (including Citibank and AFEX)
• Preparation of various weekly and monthly AP reports like Outstanding payables, aging etc.
• Working with Finance stakeholders to complete the preparation and review of local filing requirements (local VAT Returns and more)
• Strengthen and grow relationships with internal Finance stakeholders and generally responding to all enquiries from internal stake holders.
• Ongoing maintenance of Accounts Payable tracker and management of all finance documentation, ensuring robust audit trails
• Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process including automation initiatives
• Assisting with NetSuite projects, clean-up and maintenance, working with internal Finance teams.
• Execute global bank account reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of local month-end processes, including the maintenance of the day-to-day journal entries and bookkeeping tasks
• Assist with process improvements and automation projects

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• BA/BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent working experience required
• 2+ years of accounting/finance experience is required, preferably in an account payable role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
• Ability to work with a wider global team and across different time zones if required.
• Technology-literate, including Microsoft Suite and NetSuite
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to work in well-organized manner
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to prioritize and juggle with a variety of tasks
• Ability to take ownership and carry accountability even when working closely together with the team
