Overview of Job Function:
The Innovation & Enablement Manager provides direct management oversight, leadership, guidance, and direction to the assigned Innovation & Enablement staff. The manager will provide continuous improvement to the team’s overall knowledge, development, programming best practices, process improvement and adherence to existing processes.
The Manager will work with the Director of Innovation & Enablement utilizing an Agile Methodology to determine upcoming needs based on product roadmap and engage with relevant teams as required.
The Innovation & Enablement Manager will also be responsible for building strong working relationships across Product Management, Engineering, IT, Global Demo Teams, Solutions Sales and Training delivery globally.
The Innovation & Enablement Manager is also expected to work on Innovation & Enablement projects & initiatives with a breakdown of responsibility as follows. 30% coaching, mentoring, and developing the team. Working on Initiatives & Projects 70 %.
Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
Manage the development lifecycle of software products in the Innovation lab
Oversee, create and implement software solutions and applications developed in Aws & Azure
Plan, direct and coordinate the actions of the development team
Oversee the entire team’s success in achieving projects following an Agile methodology
Play an active role in development of the Innovation lab
Develop the teams programmatical skills in OOP (Object Orientated Programming)
Ensure code is developed with appropriate documentation
Identifies opportunities for Innovation lab improvements and makes constructive suggestions for change, taking ownership and implementing such changes
Hosts team meetings to discuss Company/team business
Keeps abreast on new cloud products and technologies (AWS, GCP & Azure)
Assembles and maintains sprint reporting data
Responsible for employee development, to continuously identify areas for improvement in the areas of knowledge, process and employee soft skills.
Responsible for all HR and personnel matters for the team
Participates in employee selection and performance review processes.
Meets or exceed Innovation & Enablement team objectives and goals.
Minimum Requirements:
Solid critical-thinking and decision-making skills
Proficient in finding creative solutions to complex problems
Ability to collaborate with and lead colleagues
Expertise in programming and debugging
5+ years of software development experience specifically OOP (Object Oriented programming)
Experience in Jenkins, Terraform, AWS, Lambda, Python, Azure
Experience with source control tools
Strong communication: written and oral
Adherence to standard concepts, practices, and procedures within software design and development.
Preferred Requirements:
Excellent software project management skills
2+ years of experience in managing, mentoring, and leading software engineering teams
Strong technical writing skills for solution documentation
Strong Networking and Network/Applications Security knowledge is a plus
Knowledge of distributed web applications and architecture
languages: Python, React, Node, C#/C++, .Net
Database Administration and development is a plus
Additional Nice to Have Requirements:
Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements
Experience with Ansible
Solid foundation of networking and Linux administration
Experience with Kubernetes
