What you’ll be doing…

As a Principal (Analytics) you will own and perform specific analytics tasks and lead and drive end to end solutions for AI/ML use cases.

• Working in a collaborative environment with global teams to drive solutions to business problems.
• Developing end-to-end analytical solutions, and articulate insight findings to leadership.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to business by clearly articulating complex modeling concepts through generation and delivery of presentations.
• Analyzing and developing models using both structured and unstructured data from a number of distributed clients and publicly available sources.
• Designing and build scalable machine learning models to meet the needs of the given business engagement.
• Assisting with the mentorship and development of Junior members.
• Drive team towards solutions.
• Developing the next generation of AI that protects the privacy of our customers and ensures that our modeling practices are ethical and bias free.
• Testing and validating all AI methods.
• Deploy and manage models throughout the end to end lifecycle.
• Assisting in growing practice in AI&D, by meeting business goals through client prospecting, responding to model POC, identifying and closing opportunities within identified Insights, writing white papers, exploring new tools, and defining best practices.
• Partnering with academia and startup ecosystem to identify and potentially bring in new AI approach that can be of value to Verizon.
• Staying informed on the latest advancements in AI and technology space, finding ways to deliver value by applying and customizing these to our specific problem space.
• Helping create an environment where our scientists are engaged in pioneering work that can be shared with the world in a number of ways like open source, publications, etc.
• Leading the way in creating AI applications designed with bias considerations and that promotes ethical AI both within Verizon and externally with Verizon’s partners.
• Supporting and developing our best practices and governance routines to ensure adherence to model management policies, peer reviews, and compliance to our policy standards for privacy, ethics, and bias.

What we’re looking for…

You have strong analytical skills, eager to work in a collaborative environment with global teams to drive ML application in business problems, develop end-to-end analytical solutions and communicate insights and findings to leadership. You work independently and are always willing to learn new technologies. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are able to interact with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams to implement data science-driven business solutions. You take pride in your role as a data scientist and enjoy adding to the systems, concepts, and models that enrich the practice. You’ll need to have:

• This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Five or more years of experience in advanced analytics/ predictive modeling in a consulting role.
• Hands-on experience in advanced data science techniques and best practices.
• Knowledge of ML concepts – Probabilistic Models, Supervised and Unsupervised Learning, Neural Networks & Deep learning, Ensembling.
• Experience with libraries such as theano, TensorFlow, keras, torch, caffe etc.
• Experience with all phases of end-to-end Analytics project, such as (but not limited to): Ingestion, Munging, Model Building, Validation, Operationalization, Monitoring.
• Knowledge of Python, Sql, PySpark, Scala and/or other languages and tools.

Even better you have:

• Two or more years of experience in scaling AI in areas like personalization, forecasting, experimentation, computer vision, etc.
• Experience in demand forecasting using traditional methodologies like exponential smoothing, ARIMA as well as newer methods like FB Prophet etc.
• Experience in optimization using LP to find the solution region on multiple curves/planes using business-driven constraints.
