BLEC Launch & Execution > Blades Service Center Management > Operations Support
Operations Support Department is part of Blades Service Center (BSC), Chennai. This department is responsible for improving process optimizations in relation to quality, cycle time, cost out projects, BOM and CoPQ reductions for Serial Production (Post Gate 6 products). This department is closely working with Blade Launch and Execution Center for smooth launch of Tech Transfer projects and engage with Technology (VPS) and New Product Management for new blade launch from Gate 3 by delivering cutting files and production documents like control plan, QDA, PII and PWI as per project milestones.
Responsibilities

• Adherence to Vestas Safety Culture & Vestas values
• Handling Engineering Changes regarding production BoM and routings
• Supporting and working on tasks for sustainability projects, waste management projects
• Implementing Material Workflow Tasks in SAP ERP
• Conducting periodic audits to close deviations in factory Bill of Materials vs Consumption
• Conducting Technical Evaluation and Approval of Engineering Change requests from factories
• Extending Material Master data support for factories
• Planning Engineering Change Implementation with factories on Material Phase-In and Phase-Out
• Supporting Tech-Transfer Projects and coordinating BoM cost reduction initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering in any of the following disciplines – Polymer / Mechanical / Manufacturing / Electrical & Electronics / Production / Industrial / Aerodynamics
• 2 to 5 years of working in Wind Industries, Engineering industries, Manufacturing, Automobile, Aeronautical Industries
• Should be good in MS Excel & PPT
• Nice to have Experience in SAP ERP/Microsoft Dynamics/XA

Competencies

• Good knowledge on BOM, SAP Martials Management, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor XA, ERP and Windchill
• Good knowledge on blades manufacturing process & Blade Materials
• Capable of driving/ continuous improvement projects with cross functional departments
• Experience in Engineering change management (ECM)
• Ability to Create & deliver solutions
• Fluent in English (Oral & Written)
• Good in Stake holder management
• Good team-oriented person. Being creative and getting things done
• Ability to work under pressures & get things done with quality
• Knowledge in SAP ERP and Windchill is an added advantage
