Job Description

Job Summary

Vir Innovations is looking for a driven and experienced industrial designer who can design concepts for the product by combining art, business, and engineering. An industrial designer will make products that people use every day.

Responsibilities

• Understand the scope of work & client requirements for designs
• Research the various ways a particular product might be used, and who will use it
• Sketch ideas or create renderings, which are images on paper or on a computer that provide a visual of design ideas
• Use computer software to develop virtual models of different designs
• Coordinate with the manufacturing team to create physical prototypes of their designs
• Examine materials and manufacturing requirements to determine production costs
• Work with other specialists, such as mechanical engineers and manufacturers, to evaluate whether their design concepts will fill needs at a reasonable cost
• Evaluate product safety, appearance, and function to determine if a design is practical and manufacturable
• Present designs and demonstrate prototypes for approval
• Design and create interaction spec* of HMI as per OEM or our requirement spec document
• Skills of some UI prototyping tool
• Project management skills (able to create a schedule/plan, people management, managing externals)
• Participate in design reviews throughout the development process.

Desired candidate profile:

• Experience of minimum 3 years in consumer electronics/kitchen automation field (knowledge and understanding of consumer electronics/kitchen products and function
• Degree in Bdes or Mdes
• Notice period: Immediate or short

Job Type: Freelance
Contract length: 1 month

Salary: ₹40,000.00 – ₹45,000.00 per month
