VMware Hiring for Cloud Infrastructure Site Reliability Engineer – Opportunity for Working Remotely at Pune, India Full Time

As an SRE you will be utilizing industry-leading virtualization and cloud technologies, and playing a critical role in innovating, designing, and implementing solutions to improve support and maintain appropriate service levels (availability, reliability, self-healing) to meet our colleagues’ needs and exceed their expectations.

You will be part of our VMware Engineering Services (VES) Cloud Infrastructure organization and will be a member of a global team supporting IT, Engineering, and R&D systems running the company’s business-critical applications and product development.

Our primary goal is to design, build and operate reliable and efficient infrastructure services for VMware globally.

We are seeking a talented, self-starter individual with an engineering mindset and passion for using automation to solve complex problems.

What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

• You will gain a thorough understanding of our operational support environment, technologies and solutions we use, process and procedures we follow, and our collaborative interactions with other support teams and colleagues.

• You will be expected to develop scripts to automate current manual system administration and support tasks to improve our operational efficiency.

• You will be responsible for designing and delivering new solutions supporting infrastructure functions through systems automation and orchestration.

What type of work will you be doing?

• Perform systems installation, configuration, support, administration through automation.

• Handling of production outages/incidents and On-Call responsibilities.

• Architect and Implement solutions incorporating security best practices and remediate security vulnerabilities.

• Drive improvement through process simplification, and development and implementation of automated solutions.

• Collaborate with other geographically distributed engineering teams.
