What is the primary need, technical challenge and/or problem you will be responsible for?

You will be part of Developer and App Platform Delivery Engineering Team, working as quality engineer with a focus on developing and shipping our product with quality. We are looking for a passionate and experienced engineer who has proven experience with Continuous Integration systems, test automation and automation test framework. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a high-performing team and gain experience with cutting-edge tools and technologies.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Kubernetes, exposure to cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, GCP and VCF; hands-on experience in executing solutions and end-end customer workflows testing/system testing and automation using Python/Golang.

Within the first 6-12 months, what are the 2-3 most important performance goals (described as SMART Goals if possible) I would be expected to complete for you to consider me successful in this role?

You will be expected to:

• Develop and execute test cases.

• Automate test cases using internally developed automation infrastructure.

• Become subject matter expert and truly understand engineering requirement for DAP Delivery Engineering team.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

In addition to what’s implied in the goals above, the below tasks are representative of your day-to-day

• Research, evaluate and come up with test requirement in release process.

• Develop, design and enhance test architecture and test plan.

• Execute test cases across distributions for DAP products.

• Identify issues and collaborate with partner team(s) in bringing them to a closure.

• Troubleshoot issues pertaining to the product or test environment.

• Enhance existing test cases periodically as product requirement changes.

• Automate test cases and support CI team in onboarding the testcases into pipeline.

• Collaborate with team members, technical leads across DAP engineering teams to identify, resolve problems.

• Assess the quality and risks of the product under development.

• Bringing clarity where there is uncertainty, manage risk and continuously deliver value.

• Defining experiments, measuring success metrics and using data to make informed decisions.

• Coaching the team, helping innovate and iterate on engineering solutions and processes, share your insights and influence release decision.

• Researching new technologies pertaining to release engineering and asses fit.

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager of the Delivery Engineering team within the DAP Engineering Organisation in Modern Apps and Management Business Group who is keen to share the specifics of program with you.
