Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

• Improve Engineering Efficiency: Be a major contributor in building and strengthening Test Automation for enhancing engineering productivity.
• Collaboration: You will be collaborating with and building relationships across engineering teams. Support and guide the Test Automation team towards Cloud & Security test automation.
• Test Automation framework and feature development, Triaging: Enable the team to build stable, low maintainable test automation by developing a solid framework and feature tests. Help the engineers in code review and guide them on good design principles.
• Team Growth Mindset: You will be an active member of the Test Automation team, helping the team to grow and learning from other team members is vital to the success of someone in this role.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? As part of the VMware Cloud Disaster Recovery Test Automation Team, you will:

• Architect automation frameworks, define automation strategies and develop automated tests to validate the use-cases as per the product specifications, requirements and ensure its stability with ease of maintenance.
• Writing, extending and maintaining automated test plans and scripts for one or more of the following areas : Cloud Storage, ESX or Linux Platform Software, High Availability, File Systems, Virtualization, Security/Cloud Security.
• Build automated tests by leveraging Cloud Security testing principles, applying attack vectors & mitigation methods, OWASP and penetration testing concepts
• Set high-engineering standards and best practices by doing regular design and code reviews. Work closely with the global engineering group to adopt those standards.
• Demonstrate solid programming fundamentals, object oriented concepts and be proficient in one of the following languages (Python/Java/C/C++)
• Have a strong understanding of QA practices and approaches.
• Have strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, will be involved in bug triaging and fixing.
• Be a mentor to others and grow the wider test automation and security testing skills within the team
• Deploying, configuring and troubleshooting storage and/or security and/or networking systems
• Use tools such as Git, Jira, GitLab, Jenkins CI/CD
• Good to have – knowledge of any Hyperscales (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI/VMware Cloud)
• 10+ Years of experience in an equivalent role

You will report to a Test Automation and Test Infra leadership and work closely with the rest of the organization.
