Position Description

Experienced Engineer – Chassis Structures

Summary:
The candidate for this position will Design technical solutions according to given prerequisites (e.g., function, style, volume, geometry, costs, quality target and regulations) in mechanical areas and should be able to work independently on Chassis Structure module. Candidate will coordinate and perform complex Engineering tasks under minimal supervision, supporting the mission of the group, department and/or Volvo GTT.

Core Responsibilities:
Design of Frames, Cross Members and Advanced Structures as per truck market requirement

Develops and owns Component level time plan

Design of Sheet metal and Casting Complex parts.

Work closely with supplier for development components.

Collaborate with Cross-functional team across different verticals to drive the Product development as per Volvo process

Qualifications and Skills:
B.E/M.E – Mech/Automobile Engineering with Relevant experience of 3-6 yrs

Hands on work experience in Automotive Structural components

Good knowledge of application of GD&T

Have holistic view on deliverables from other interfaces to secure quality & readiness before release.

Knowledge Chassis Equipment’s packaging, routing & development.

Experience in heavy commercial vehicle industry, Competence and exposure to CAD Tools (CREO), Volvo Tools and Processes will be a plus

Basic knowledge of Agile Way of working will be
