Volvo Group Hiring for Senior Engineer – CSETA at Bengaluru, Karnataka Full Time

Position Description

Role:
Senior Engineer within Chassis Structure Equipment installation and Transport Adaptation (CSETA) team with focus on energy storage system installation.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and development of structural components with focus on energy storage system installation.

Delivers value through decision-making even under ambiguity; create design concepts by balancing of cross functional needs, collaborating with suppliers to co-develop product solutions.

Work closely with colleagues in different Volvo Group global sites, cross functional teams to develop the system and its parts.

Mechanically mount the high voltage battery pack(s) in a safe manner, in several different positions of the vehicle, depending on the vehicle variants.

Protecting parts against mechanical abuse, with the help of casting or sheet metal anchorage to frame.

Design crash structure, rubber bushings, intermediary brackets.

Work closely with FE Simulation Analysts in coming up with optimized solution.

Engineering documentation of drawings, technical requirement, functional specification and managing change.

Education and relevant experience:
BE/ME – Mechanical/Automobile Engineering with at least 6 years of proven OEM experience in automotive product development.

Hands-on work experience in chassis aggregates.

Strong in structural design, being analytical and problem-solving ability.

Knowledge of design verification and validation is required.

Good knowledge of application of GD&T.

Extensive hands-on experience in Creo and PDM tools, exposure to vehicle packaging is required.

Good networking and interpersonal skills with good verbal and written English communication.

Process oriented way of working and a team player mindset.

Being structured, ability to recognize the value of providing solutions with the right quality level and on time.
