Sr. Engineer –Axles

SAS (Steering, Axles hubs/brakes & Suspensions), GTT Bangalore

The SAS Bangalore group is responsible for the development of Axles, kunckles and king pin. The responsibility includes all truck brands within the Volvo Group so we work towards all GTT sites worldwide.

You will be a part of an agile team responsible for development, specification, documentation and verification of the steering systems. You will also develop requirements, concepts and system solutions within the Hubs & Wheel End area.

Job Description

In the area of SAS, we are now looking for an Sr. Engineer – Axles (SAS), into our Product development team, to reinforce the SAS Team Deliveries to across the Sites.

The main responsibilities are:
Design and development of axles system & Components installation and contribute to the Workload in the SAS Area.

Design of Casting Complex parts.

To work with cross functional teams and with a global network of people within Product Development, Purchasing, Global Manufacturing and Aftermarket.

To execute Projects with QDCF (Quality, Delivery, project and product Cost, Feature).

Engineering documentation of drawings and specifications.

Drive and establish a good Collaborative working with Global Sites.

It is required to establish right participation & contribution to the Advance Engineering, Roadmaps and Knowledge management topics as well.

Qualifications and Key Attributes:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/automobile Engineering, With Overall experience 8-10 years in the automobile industry.

Hands on Experience on Wheel End Systems and Knowledge on Casting Technology is a must.

Proven experience of working with Pro-E.

Have a capacity to work individually as well with small team to secure the deliverables.

Knowledge on Braking System and Disc Brake knowledge will be an added advantage.

Volvo Tools Knowledge like PDM, KOLA as well as Agile WoW will be an added advantage.

Good exposure of Product Development Life Cycle End to End, Truck and its application Overview.

Good networking and interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication.

Creative Mindset, Agile, Self-driven, High Energy and Goal oriented are the Key Attributes.
