The Assistant Manager, Accounting Operations is responsible for applying the principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. The location is Bangalore, India. Initially the role will be 100% remote, but as Vontier establishes a presence in Bangalore, the expectation would be a hybrid work schedule.
· Assist in month-end closing and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
· Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and financial analytics, for properly stated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
· Analyze financial statements to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to summarize and interpret the current and projected financial position of the company. Communicate these findings through written narratives and oral presentations to management.
· Ensure SOX compliance for corporate accounting.
· Assist in the preparation of reporting packages, as required, to comply with corporate financial reporting requirements and statutory regulations.
· Prepare account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and review of corporate expenses, ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with company policy. Review, investigate, and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items.
· Work closely with treasury and cash accounting; lease accounting, consolidation & external reporting and Vontier business segments finance & accounting teams.
· Assist with audit requests from EY, our corporate audit firm.
· Submit recommendations for improving the company’s finance & accounting processes.
· Perform account reconciliations using Blackline.
· Perform special projects, ad-hoc reports, and analysis as required.
· Perform financial analysis using automation tools to simplify, standardize finance & accounting processes.

§ BS, BA, or MS Degree in Finance or Accounting is required
§ Chartered Accountant license is preferred
§ Experience with financial systems
§ 5+ years of experience in a large international business or public accounting
§ Working knowledge of GAAP and SOX
§ Must be hands-on and detail oriented
§ Candidate must be able to work well in a cross-functional, matrixed organization
§ Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills
§ Capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment
§ Should be curious; willing to ask questions and think creatively to solve problems
§ Proficient in Microsoft Office products (especially Excel)
§ Proven experience with Cash accounting/Treasury support
§ Proven experience with Blackline and Concur finance and accounting tools
§ Driven to automate and simplify financial processes using intelligent automation tools
