Wayfair Hiring for Software Engineer II, Supply Chain Technology at Bangalore, India Full Time

We are looking for best in class Engineers to come in and help scale our technical products and teams alike as we continue on our path to be the world’s number one online destination for the home.
• As one of the early member of the team here in our strategic technology delivery center, you will partner closely with our technology and business leaders from around the world to help build the platform to support our growth plans to $50B USD and beyond in next 3 to 5 years.
• The team in the Bengaluru delivery center can work across multiple domains that drive speed and convenience for the customer and cost efficiency across the full value chain. The work we do at Wayfair means we have to move quickly, collaborating with the best and brightest engineers, creatives, product managers, data scientists, operators, and analysts to discover, build, and scale world-class software products.
• The initial focus for the site will be to build Wayfair’s greenfield Omni Supply Chain Platform to scale our innovative, large parcel network that serves our vast marketplace. While this is a massive mission in itself, you will work as a Backend Engineer encompassing an “Engineering excellence” mindset, taking the lead in your team through technical responsibilities like designing scalable architectures, solving the most complex problems and being a mentor and helping the team through a volatile and ever changing environment!

What You’ll Do:

• Be a technical evangelist  within the team you work with
• Working in a highly collaborative environment interacting closely with other software engineers, product managers, designers, and operations to identify opportunities and implement solutions
• Hands-on development, including inception, design, execution, and delivery following good design , coding practices and engineering rigor 
• Obsessively focus on quality and  production readiness for the team including testing, monitoring, deployment, documentation, support and proactive troubleshooting of the deliverables owned and delivered
• Identify risks and gaps in technical approaches and propose solutions to meet team and project goals
• Create proposals and action plans to garner support across the department
• Influence and contribute to the team’s strategy and roadmap
• Help grow other engineers technically by sharing, pairing, and developing other opportunities for education
• Continuously rethink and reevaluate the status quo, even when it argues with your/our past ideas

What You Need:

• Experienced in implementing  and building large-scale, cloud-based, and event-driven systems
• At least  2 years of experience with multiple programming languages, proficiency in Java, spring boot  
• Good to have working knowledge with Python,  PHP are nice to have
• Deep understanding of application design, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience implementing both asynchronous message-based communication like kafka and synchronous ones such as RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes for build and deployment of various applications
• Great communication skills and the ability to support technical decision making with the team
• A track record of delivering in increments and learning as you go
