As a Manager – Public Affairs, you will play a key role in advising clients on government relations, policy communications and advocacy, and regulatory affairs. You will be responsible for developing strategic engagement plans, building relationships with key stakeholders, delivering strategic client-ready content and executing high-impact public affairs and advocacy campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the creation and execution of public affairs strategies that support client business goals.
• Stay informed on policy, legislative, and regulatory developments, providing clients with timely and relevant updates.
• Support clients with guidance on navigating government relations and policy challenges, whether through stakeholder or media advocacy.
• Develop and manage relationships with government officials, regulators, industry groups, and other key stakeholders.
• Understanding of media landscape for sectors like technology, retail & e-commerce and energy for policy communications planning and execution.
• Identify policy and social influencers/ KOLs for engagement and thought leadership to advocate for policy issues and challenges.
• Assist in identifying strategic opportunities and risks based on stakeholder insights.
• Prepare advocacy materials, including opinion articles and blogs, policy briefs, position papers, and reports that support clients’ strategic objectives.
• Help develop and implement communication strategies that position clients as thought leaders in their industries.
• Coordinate events and forums to foster engagement with key stakeholders, including policy influencers and media representatives.
• Support in developing crisis management strategies related to public policy, regulatory matters, or reputational risks.
• Provide counsel during sensitive situations to help clients manage public perception and mitigate potential risks.
• Manage day-to-day client relationships, ensuring seamless communication and high-quality service delivery.
• Collaborate with internal teams (PR, Digital, and Corporate Communications) to provide integrated public affairs solutions.
• Mentor and support junior team members, providing guidance on public affairs strategies and deliverables.

Key Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 4+ years in public affairs, government relations, policy advocacy, or corporate affairs. Experience with consultancy, government, or industry bodies is an advantage.
• Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Law, or related fields.
• Knowledge: Solid understanding of government processes, policy-making, and regulatory issues in India. Strong content management skills and media advocacy experience a must.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in drafting policy briefs, speeches, and reports.
• Stakeholder Management: Ability to build and maintain relationships with key political, government, and industry stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify trends, issues, and opportunities in the public policy landscape.
• Crisis Management: Experience in handling communication around crises and sensitive public policy issues.
