Sr. HPC DevSecOps Engineer
Job Description
Western Digital’s High Performance Computing environments are key to bringing new storage solutions to market. As a Senior HPC DevSecOps engineer in the HPC IT Infrastructure, you will be at the heart of Western Digital’s engineering and product development process, delivering the Secure IT HPC infrastructure and services with highly automated environment that empowers engineering teams to develop new storage technologies and deliver high quality products to market quickly.
Responsibilities:
Architecture and technical design of IaaS codePartner with Infrastructure team to deliver the required features and define the SoPBuild scalable, reliable & secure high performance environmentsDesign and implement both continuous integration and continuous deliveryDesign and build monitoring solutions and servicesDevelop platform code with industry standard applications/toolsMonitor health of the application & environment and fix the issue with automation &. Machine learningEffectively contribute to building the overall knowledge and expertise of the technical teamProactively identify and resolve the risks
Skill required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience10+ years of relevant industry experience, with at least 6 years of hands-on technical leadership (compute, storage, networking, data management, DevOps) and in IT and/or software development teams.Extensive experience in DevSecOps, Automation, IT operations, programs and project management. Specific experience in projects and programs supporting product engineering, DevSecOps, software/hardware development environments will be key for success.Must possess strong documentation skills and can work with rapid change and at a fast pace.Proven ability to build and lead high performing and geographically dispersed teams that are not in your direct management chain.Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to manage complex process and technology issues.Experience with configuration management tools: Ansible, Puppet, ChefGood experience with analytical data management tools: Splunk, Grafana or any industry leading analytics tool.Proficiency in any Linux distributionScripting skills: highly skilled in a at least two typical scripting languages (shell/bash, perl, python, ruby)Proficiency in managing the version control systems like git/svn.Good working knowledge on Ansible & Terraform or similar automation toolsExperience with containers/orchestration: Docker, OpenStack
Additional Skills for Linux Security:
Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix troubleshooting skills, experience with tools such as strace, wireshark, gdb. Advanced knowledge of analyzing sniffer traces and able to resolve various Layer 7 issues.A thorough knowledge of LAN/WAN networking architecture, Load Balancers, WAN Optimization with relevant work experience. Working Knowledge of Security Technologies and Protocols: Firewall, TLS/SSL, SSH.Linux secure environments like secure chambers
