Job Summary
SQA Engineer is primarily responsible for planning, creating and executing manual software test activities as a member of an agile software development team. Employees in this position must understand the Software Development Life Cycle and develop an understanding of current products and technology in order to design and implement quality solutions to meet business needs in an agile team environment.
Essential Duties and responsibilities

• Work closely with business analysts, software engineers, and product owner as part of a highly effective agile development team
• Design and review test plans to ensure that test plans conform to testing standards.
• Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation and automated scripts.
• Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan.
• Functional, Regression, Integration and System Testing on various products developed. Execute and evaluate manual test cases and report test results
• Participate in all Agile ceremonies including Sprint Review, Product Backlog Grooming, Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective
• Monitoring and tracking project milestones and deliverables; identifying and managing issues and action items; creating project status reports for project lead for incorporation into larger project status maintaining work stream schedules; identifying potential risks that could endanger project milestones; ensuring proper escalation of issues.
• Interact effectively with peers, management and cross functional teams to address and resolve issues.
• Analyzes test results to verify functionality, data correctness/consistency, identify non-conformances, report bugs and recommend corrective action. Generate comprehensive test reports: daily status reports, test summary reports. Help reproduce customer escalations or bugs that are reported by customers.
• Document software defects and report defects to software engineers.
• Work with onshore engineers daily in a technical role.

Job Qualifications
Education
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Experience, Knowledge and Tools
Minimum Experience: 5-8 years of strong testing experience

• Prior experience leading small to medium size SQA teams
• Experience multi-tasking based on priority based items and managing tasks to completion.

• Strong understanding of QA processes and defect/bug lifecycle.
• Understands risk-based testing approach.

• Design and development of detailed testing plan(s) and integration with the project schedule.
• Learns full line of WK products and QA process by attending and engaging fully in any available formal or informal training sessions.
• Communicating accurately and professionally both orally and in written form.
• Working in a dynamic, fast paced environment under time-sensitive deadlines.
• Works well independently (minimal supervision) while also functioning as integral part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to new process
• Partners with the automation/performance test team.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Desirable knowledge of Tools:

• MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
• MS SQL Server, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps or equivalent, MS Test Manager, XML
• GUI & API testing tools i.e. Postman
• QTP, Selenium, Coded UI experience of automation scripting and/or running the scripts is a plus

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications:

• Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
• Excellent conceptual grasp of software, operating systems, architectures etc.
• US domain financial industry knowledge highly desirable.
• Testing related certification preferred. i.e. ISTQB
