Full Job Description
Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for Systems Engineer (SPPID Admin) to join our Engineering Systems team in Chennai. This role will extensively interface with multi-location project execution teams as well as Project Systems personnel across the world. The selected candidates will be expected to work in a multidiscipline, multicultural team environment where the overall success of the project is paramount.

Responsible for:
Assume the role of SPP&ID Administrator on a number of Projects
Configure the application to suit Client and Project needs
Advise Project teams regarding the implications of engineering strategies and work processes on the set-up, use and handover of project SPP&ID databases
Take responsibility for the integrity and health of Project databases in terms of inconsistency management and maintenance utilities
Act as the interface between ICT and the project team for all SPPID related queries and activities
Produce appropriate project documentation including procedures and designer instructions
Prepare project SPPID databases for Client handover
Represent the Company at external conferences and user forums as required

Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical / Chemical / Civil / Electrical / Instrumentation
5-10 years of total experience in the setup and administration of Hexagon tools (SPPID) preferably in Oil & Gas industry
Strong Project Experience in Hexagon (Intergraph SPPID) User and Administration
Experience in managing the Hexagon (Intergraph SPPID) database in a workshare environment
Experience in other tools like Aveva / Bentley / Autodesk is an added advantage

Functional Competencies:
The SPP&ID ASE should:
Be fully conversant with all aspects of application configuration and ongoing Project support
Have the ability to assess Client and contractual requirements in terms of P&ID, and other deliverable production, and translate these into a Project-ready SPP&ID environment
Be conversant with all potential options for system deployment in respect of Company internal P&ID workshare and 3rd Party management
Possess an understanding of the underlying database structure such that appropriate deliverable and validation reports can be extracted to support the P&ID and associated deliverable, development
Be able to converse effectively with all levels of the Project team regarding aspects of SPPID development and use
Continually assess development and improvement opportunities with regard to SPP&ID including integration with other applications
Strong computer skills and comfortable with database systems like SQL, oracle etc.
Possessing working knowledge of programming language like .Net, C# & VB6 etc
Experience in working with High Value Engineering Centres / remote offices (including construction sites) is desirable
