Project Description

Our PayTV platform is a video delivery solution committed to making the live and on-demand entertainment experience better across all devices and platforms. Our content delivery platform unlocks content from the traditional Set Top Box (STB) experience allowing Pay TV providers to seamlessly deliver content to their subscribers on all screens.PayTV platform is a micro-services based multi-tenant platform catering to 100+ Cable TV Operators, designed to scale for 1+ mil subscribers.

We are looking for Staff Data Engineer, who is passionate about solving complex Big Data engineering problems, to join our Data Team. This position entails working in a cross-functional Agile team comprised of Full Stack Engineers, Product managers, Project managers and Operations. Most importantly eager to learn new technology and domain.

Job Purpose

Candidate will be part of the Data Team and he/she will be closely working other engineers, QA, product manager on new features and resiliency work items in an Agile Development environment.

Here’s what you get to do:

· Work with Product Manager to understand requirements, feature sets and solution.

· Design, Implement and maintain data pipeline and data processing solution.

· Determine potential and actual data ingest and export bottlenecks and propose recommendations for their elimination

· Participate in testing and automate test cases as part of SDLC

· Be subject matter expert and help groom team members.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking a Candidate who is having good attitude and skills in learning new technologies and add value by being productive with little assistance. He or She needs to be a self-starter and should be able to learn the domain without spoon feeding. We are looking for someone who has 7+ years of product development experience

· 7+ years of Software Development experience in Data Warehouse/Data Lake/Big Data with Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science

· 4+ years of hands-on experience with data solutions and ETL with Python/Java based Big Data frameworks on Linux environment.

· Must have experience with multiple database technologies Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, Google BigTable, BigQuery, Elasticsearch, Apache Hive.

· Must have experience with developing services on Google Cloud, DataFlow, BigQuery and BigTable and ETL tools, Airflow and Pentaho.

· Experience with Elastic Stack, Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana, Filebeat.

· Experience with hybrid cloud solution for data pipelines, data processing, analytics and storage.

· Good analytical thinking, troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

· Have great communication skills, both oral and written

· Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology

Overview of the recruitment process

Time to complete interview cycle: 10-14 Days (depending on your availability)

Number of interview rounds: 60 mins of online coding test + 1-2 Technical + 1 Hiring Manager + 1 HR

Given the pandemic, all the interviews are conducted remotely using a video interview platform.
