Job Description

The data engineering team at Zepto closely works with our Technology and Analytics team to design, propose and develop solutions keeping the growing scale & business requirements in mind. We are looking for a leader who shall own, define and execute the overall data engineering practice vision for Zepto. Responsibilities:

• Build and mentor a world class team, recognize their strengths, and lead them to take ownership of end-to-end data architecture

• Design and build best in class architecture for leveraging data, optimize data pipelines in support of descriptive analytics, data science, and ML

• Develop and implement a global data governance strategy to enable data privacy and security protocols and ensure adherence

• Stay on top of latest developments in tech stack and propose potential upgrades to existing systems

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering – Designing databases, building data pipelines, and maintaining data governance protocols in cloud platforms

• A visionary in technical architecture, with experience building and maintaining Data Engineering Products, along with demonstrated ability to take accountability for achieving results

• Hands-on working experience with Python, ETL pipelines, advanced SQL

• Strong understanding of AWS Services – Redshift, Lambda, Glue, Athena, security protocols

• Experience in any Cloud DW Redshift/Snowflake/BigQuery/Synapse

• Strong data Modeling and database design experience with Redshift or other relational databases

• Experience working with Agile methodologies, Test Driven Development and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab and Docker

• Good understanding of ETL/ELT technology and processes

• Experience in gathering and processing raw data at scale including writing scripts, web scraping, calling APIs
