As a Head of Licence & Permit and Government affairs, you’ll report to Director-Market Operations & Regulatory Affairs and following tasks would be a part of your job profile:
Government Affairs:
Identify and create networking to the responsible state and central government counterparts (that includes facilitation of processes and influence on decisions)
Ensure influence in the definition of new regulations through the representation of the Company’s interests with government agencies
To assure the Company a leading role in the formation of opinion within the RES/energy sector, through participation in associations
Licence and Permit:
Apply and ensure all licenses and permits required for projects during construction and operation
Supervise and lead the process of land acquisition, access rights to the land, ensure land access granted in due time
Lead negotiations with local authorities and third parties related to land access processes
Prepare documentation and agreements related to the process
Regulatory Area:
Monitor and participate actively in the regulatory, political and legal forums in the Indian RES/energy sector
Identify regulatory and market threats / opportunities, developing solutions that maintain / add value to the Company’s assets.
Ensure the development of studies related to the energy market and planning of the sector, in order to identify risks / opportunities for the Company and potential impacts
To assure the Company (local and international) support regarding the analysis and understanding of the economic / political scenarios, energy regulation, energy studies, planning and the Indian electricity market.
Ensure regulatory support for:
Business Development and providing regulatory guidelines for participating in auctions or selling on the open market.
Asset Management, providing regulatory guidelines for maintaining / adding value to existing assets.
Markets by providing regulatory guidance related to Energy Management, Trading & Origination – including ideas for developing new products
About you:
We look for experienced personnel with the essential skills that includes:
A bachelor’s Degree, or higher in relevant subject (finance, law, etc)
At least 15 years of relevant experience
Strong leadership and managerial skills
Excellent relationship management and communication skills necessary for interaction with governmental entities
Knowledge of, and experience with, laws dealing with government and/or commercial contract administration
Ability to provide independent advice (orally and in writing) to senior level management on highly technical matters
Good planning and organization skills, as well as a strategic perspective
