Responsibilities –

• Contribute to strategic planning and direct engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the businesses’ goals.
• Develop plans, policies, and teams to build relationships and liaise with government entities that regulate or influence business activities.
• Directs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact on the organization.
• Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives.
• Creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, compliance, communications, and business units, to align public policy initiatives with business objectives and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.
• Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
• Represent the organization in relevant industry forums, conferences, and working groups to promote our positions and build strategic alliances with industry stakeholders.

Requirements –

• Proven track record of 20+ years in public policy, government affairs, or a related field within the Infrastructure or Technology or related Industry; with a deep understanding of the Indian regulatory landscape.
• Strong knowledge of regulations, policy-making processes, and government relations in India.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex policy issues clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with government officials, regulators, industry associations, and other stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze and interpret policy trends, anticipate potential impacts and develop proactive strategies.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate through complex regulatory frameworks and propose innovative solutions.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and networking abilities, with a proven ability to drive consensus among diverse groups of stakeholders.
• High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and a commitment to upholding professional standards.
