How will you make an impact in this role?
Commercial Risk team is responsible for deciding strategies pertaining to acquisition and ensuring portfolio hygiene for the entire corporate cards portfolio in India. Further, the team also monitors and manages the risk of large institutional exposures which are fundamentally underwritten post a through manual review.
Analyst will be based out of India, and responsible for rating and underwriting credit exposures predominantly for Indian portfolio. Fundamental analysis incorporates a thorough review of business, financial, industry and country risk coupled with support from internal and external rating model outputs. Assessment includes understanding of the need for credit extension, profitability of the relationship and program structures.
Analysts will have opportunity to interact with various teams across the firm including front office sales, business unit risk partners, and credit administration to perform their critical role.
Responsibilities will include:
Monitoring credit metrics, providing insights for portfolio trends, and executing various risk strategies.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization’s financial health.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging risks to continuously improve and adapt the risk underwriting framework.
At least 2 years of experience in credit risk management working on Commercial credit/lending
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Statistics, Risk Management).
Fundamental knowledge in Commercial/Corporate Finance and financial analysis
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
Fundamental knowledge of regulatory requirements related to risk management in the financial industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, make strategic decisions, and implement changes in response to evolving risk landscapes.
Professional certifications such as CFA or FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or similar is a plus.
Strong programming skills (SQL as a minimum) required for data extraction and analysis
