Job Summary: This is a senior leadership development position, in which the incumbent will be

developed into the potential future Executive Director role or as the Head of another Business Unit

within company. The incumbent deputises with full authority when the Executive Director is

unavailable for duty for any reason. Grow and develop the bench-strength at company, to enable

100% plus business volume growth. Formulate excellent working relations with all key stakeholders,

including regulatory authorities, customers and group internal stakeholders within

company,Functionally responsible initially for Sustainability, Innovation, Compliance, Business

Continuity, External Affairs, Security and Safety. As the organisation develops, additional functionality

maybe assigned when appropriate and/or required.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure that Safety standards exceed minimum standards as legally required by local
• authorities, and global standards as mandated by company Health & Safety without any loss of
• operating efficiency.
• Provide a ring of Security which keeps potential intruders out of the concession area, but same
• time facilitates ease of access to all authorised visitors, such as staff, contractors, Customers,
• Truckers, etc.
• Build a strong functional relationship with CISF and the local Police who also assist us with
• security.
• Proactively ensure that the company is in full compliance of all local and international rules and
• business governance.
• Own and keep updated the business continuity risk register and preventative, mitigating and
• recovery steps as required and as will change over time.
• Drive the efforts to ensure that company meets its internal and external sustainability
• requirements, especially focused on decarbonisation, and environmental protection.
• Champion innovation and coordinate innovation drives and initiatives which will take company
• to the next levels of automation and digitalisation, through the adoption of AI and ML.
• Manage, grow and develop external relations with regulatory bodies such as JNPA and Customs.
• Provide leadership coaching, mentoring, organisational development and inspiration to Heads of
• Department and mid-level managers in the areas of:
• Creating an environment of psychological safety
• Building leadership trust
• Increasing levels of motivation and engagement
• Developing and supporting delegation and empowerment across the entire organisation
• Driving performance management through objective expectation and target setting (KPI s)
• Differentiate performance levels, identify potential, and develop a leadership succession pipeline
• Assist with organisation design, and recruitment, and talent optimisation
• Validate assumptions and inputs to the budgeting process.
• Follow-up with cost owners on a monthly basis for costs versus budget and costs this year versus
• the same period of last year, along with projected full year estimated costs.
• Drive the Data for Excellence journey, ensuring that relevant data both exists and is easily
• accessible for the entire business to perform analysis, form conclusions and to take remedial
• actions to improve business performance.
• Act as the primary approver for costs and expenditure within you own delegation of authority.
• Assist the Executive Director on projects or other adhoc tasks as the situation dictates.

Job Requirements

• 10-15 years of leadership experience in an organisation with more than 100 administrative
• employees.
• A proven track record of increasing motivational and engagement factors.
• Ideally a degree or MBA holder in Business Administration.
• Preferably with several years of experience in Port or Container Terminal Management roles, or
• Significant experience in a logistics operator or provider.
