Brief

The Policy advocacy lead will provide technical support and knowledge to the implementation of policy advocacy initiatives for Compressed Bio Gas sector. He /She will analyze, monitor and advocate for market creation and sustained growth of Bio Energy sector. Influence Central and state Govt. budget proposals, and administrative policies and regulations. The incumbent will be generally responsible for the delivery of policy advocacy related initiatives and leverage them to the state and national levels.

The candidate will support and advise the Head of New Projects in developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy for strengthening policies and institutions managing influencing bioenergy at all levels (national, regional, district, local and community) with all sectors of society (Government, civil society, the private sector).

Required Qualifications

• University degree in sciences, communications, public relations, Engineering or a CA with policy advocacy experience in energy space in general and renewable energy in particular preferred.

• At least three years of experience in the field, with experience in leading, developing, and managing programmes / large-scale projects in one or more of the abovementioned fields.

• Experience with multi-disciplinary teams

• Knowledge of the institutional and legal framework at Central Govt and State Govt levels for Renewable Energy policy and its implementation with Proven policy advocacy skills;

• Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic policy advocacy plans;

• Strong skills in project planning, financing, management, implementation, and evaluation;

• Preferred experience working with government and development partners / government aid agencies;

• Excellent inter-personal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels.
