Job Purpose Description

Job Context & Major Challenges

Monitor operation and maintenance of Mangalore Cement Unit. To achieve dispatches in 2 shifts operation by proper co-ordination with marketing/ logistics & GCW for cement receipt as per P & B. To control total cost of packing.

KRA1 Look after all the Bulk Termina operations as per managements direction and requirement ¿Review & ensure availability of all resources for day-to-day operations of bulk terminal

¿Review & coordinate the maintenance plan of the Grinding Unit

¿Review & ensure achievement of productivity targets.

¿Review the monthly market plan and ensure availability of product/dispatches.

KRA2 Plan strategy to ensure to meet the market requirements and improve productivity to achieve the assigned targets of the Bulk Terminal. ¿Review and analyze past performance for and identify areas for improvement.

¿Set new norms for all performance parameters based on improvements planned.

¿Evolve 3 years operational & capex plan and budget for Management sanction.

¿Review & ensure time bound implementation of capex and other improvement plans.

¿Ensure submission of daily, monthly, quarterly & annual MIS reports for management review.

KRA3 Coordinate with Plant HR to ensure effective management of people & development of motivated and performance oriented workforce. ¿As per Management directions, ensure effective human resource utilization.

¿Ensure deployment including Contract labour and plan benchmark improvements in manpower productivity.

¿To monitor and implement all the activities as per Management directions for improving Organization Health.

KRA4 Ensure effective implementation & management of environment, health and safety measures in compliance with Govt. policies & legislation / Group Polices to achieve zero accidents and pollution free environment. ¿Promote best practices in safety, hygiene and Environmental Management.

¿Review and plan for improvements.

¿Guide and provide resources for improvements as per Management direction

KRA5 Ensure adherence to statutory requirements related to all aspect of the Bulk Terminal activities. ¿Review and ensure compliance of Audit reports and all statutory and Regulatory requirements.

¿Keep updated the knowledge of changes in audit & statutory requirements.

KRA6 Effectively manage Industrial relations so as to ensure constructive work environment ¿Keep proper vigilance and information system about IR and provide information to superiors.

¿Ensure effective grievance redressal.

¿Establish channels for two-way communication with employees / Unions.

¿Establish harmonious relations with Government officials and political bodies.

¿Maintain good rapport with Govt. authorities and public at large.

¿Guide and provide support for Community development activities

KRA7 Ensure effective cost Management to minimise variable cost and fixed cost ¿Continuously monitor all the parameters for improvements on key performance parameters like power consumption, fuel consumption, working capital etc. Plan and suggest improvements on key cost drivers through Monthly Performance Review Meeting.

¿Benchmark and guide for improvement actions on performance parameters and cost drivers

KRA8 Promote and ensure effective implementation of world-class systems and their integrations to achieve system perfection. ¿Guide and provide resource for effective implementation of world-class systems like WCM, TQM, ISO, EMS etc. and review progress of implementation.

¿Review and guide to enhance operational systems and process

¿Exposure to people on new developments in systems.

¿Promote usage of IT.
