ADP is hiring a Technical Product Manager for Lifion
Are you empathetic to client needs and inspired by transformation and impacting the lives of millions of people every day?
Are you looking to join a dynamic, inclusive team environment with a culture of collaboration and belonging?
Well, this may be the role for you!
Ready to design what’s next for Lifion’s NextGen User Interfaces?
In this role, you will work alongside a team of friendly, passionate, and creative product managers and developers to bring our products to market. You will define the functionality of the Lifion Development Platform’s Low-Code User Interfaces which empower ADP’s next-generation Application Development for our cloud-based Human Resources applications. Our platform uses microservice technology, allowing developers to quickly make changes without breaking anything or starting from the beginning.
We’re looking for someone who excels when no two days are the same. Integrity, resilience, and pushing the boundaries are must-haves in this job. Whether you’re in meetings with other Product Managers, developers, or UX, you’ll be the guiding voice that helps us clarify ideas so we can create a product roadmap.
To thrive in this role, you will need to have a thorough understanding of the technical aspect of our work and work well autonomously. You must take command of your product, lead multiple team’s efforts, and be a deep listener who can ask the right clarifying questions to help understand the problem your team is trying to solve. You’ll work closely with Agile teams of talented developers, where you will leverage your years of experience to deliver sophisticated and detailed design requirements to the engineering team. You understand product delivery cycles. You have experience explaining the prioritization of a product roadmap, creating that roadmap, and documenting in a way that both external and internal teams will understand. You have held roles where you regularly communicate and defend ideas to a broad audience of stakeholders. Our best product managers are domain experts and enthusiastic creators who stay current on the latest trends. We move fast, and our pace should not scare you. But the rewards are great, too. As part of our team, your voice will influence product success and help shape our industry.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:
You will bring clarity of vision and forward-thinking product ideas to get our engineering teams excited.
You’ll start each day with a scrum, working in a team of 3-5 developers, a program manager, and yourself. Your primary focus is to understand developer issues and turn those issues into a set of requirements. You will have an active part in shaping the product. Our agile team uses Jira for agile tracking and ceremonies and works in two-week sprint cycles.
Problem Solving. Your problem-solving skills are essential in this role. You will identify problems, find and present solution sets, and then translate solutions into requirements for the engineering team to execute. Your ability to design roadmaps and create requirement documents in PowerPoint/Google Slides are crucial to your team’s
You’ll create strong alliances with diverse stakeholders and ensure everyone is in this together and communicates most appropriately. You’ll collaborate with other product managers since much of what we solve cuts across functions within the platform. You understand the overall priority of work and how to achieve goals to make everyone successful.
Although you don’t need to code in this role, you must know how to communicate with engineers and other technologists giving them confidence you understand their challenges. Our best product managers can translate easily between technical and non- technical teams, so both parties are clearly understood. As an example, you’ll be responsible for translating application designs and requirements from the HR Application Development teams to Platform Engineering teams that support their designs.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
You’ll have a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent
2+ years’ experience as Product Manager or closely related roles such as Product Owner, Program Manager, or Solutions Architect
