THE OPPORTUNITY
The Technical Architect will be the leading role in delivering automated solutions that enable personalization and segmentation defined by the Customer Relationship Marketing Managers (both B2C and B2B) and the Sr. Manager, Email Technology. The position is critical to the day-to-day operations of the CRM/Email Marketing team at Advance Auto Parts and its role in driving incremental sales for the company. This position owns the technical architecture, design and implementation of complex components including integrations, security, configuration, and custom development
Partner with business stakeholders to understand and articulate business priorities and strategies, and translate them into enablement roadmaps, initiatives, and designs
Ensure new and enhanced Salesforce features, functions, and capabilities are prioritized and applied to maximize business value
Provide expertise to address business, process, and technical opportunities and challenges
Lead by example, seek consensus, and help the team to be greater than the sum of its parts
Champion a truly Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD culture here at Advance
Approve overall technical design for solutions delivered on the Salesforce platform
Identify technical design risks and develops mitigating approaches. Guide and mentor developers and communicate closely with the rest of the Salesforce team including keeping stakeholders informed of solution progress and risks
Advise and engage on the development and delivery of Salesforce features from inception through production implementation
Collaborate with team members to ensure Salesforce development teams follow best practices when architecting, programming, and documenting solutions
Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for both technical and business suitability
Conduct vendor analysis and perform hands-on development of proof-of-concepts/prototypes for new technologies/solutions
Act as knowledge integrator and translator between business users and technical team members
Stay up to date on the latest technology trends in requirements gathering, analysis and documentation and stay informed on the latest technology trends in the industry
QUALIFICATIONS:
7+ years of Salesforce implementation experience. Advanced experience with Salesforce configuration and customization
5+ years of experience in Technical Architecture Design/Development Methodologies
Strong technical working knowledge with Sales, Experience (Communities), Service, and Marketing Clouds. Commerce Cloud is optional
Integration experience using both Web based technologies (SOAP, REST) and Integration/Middleware tools such as MuleSoft
Expert level understanding of security considerations involved with external integrations to Salesforce
Strong hands-on experience in APEX, Lightning and LWC to build complex solutions and execute POCs in Salesforce.
Experience with Release Management, Source Control, and Deployment concepts and technologies such as ANT, SFDC Metadata API, Jenkins, Git (Bitbucket) and DevOps in a Salesforce environment
Experience in documenting current state business processes and wireframing system designs using process flow diagram tools, UML, sequence diagrams, etc. as well as making recommendations for future state improved processes and system designs
Expert level experience defining the system architecture landscape, identifying gaps between current and desired end-states, and delivering a comprehensive solution that will enable achievement of the desired business outcomes Experience integrating Salesforce with different business systems, as well as working with integration tools (ESB and ETL)
Experience in developing solutions for Large Volume Data using Apex and process automations
Experience in providing Salesforce solutions compatible for a wide variety of devices
Experience working with Service and Sales consoles for a Call Center implementation.
Advanced understanding of the Salesforce.com data model and how and when to create custom objects vs. using Salesforce out-of-the-box functionality
Ability to define the system landscape, to identify gaps between current and desired end-states, and deliver a solution
Proven ability to face off to Business and IT Leadership in solutioning Business critical Strategies and Innovations
Ability to stand-in for Sr. Director and/or Mangers of Salesforce in variety of settings, meetings, and responsibilities to be the face of the CRM Salesforce team, for both Pro and Retail
In critical situations, may be called upon for Production level 3 support, to assist the team or be required to jump in and assist in technical triage activities
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including project-related user interview skills and effective interpersonal skills
Knowledge of options and how to handle security requirements such as single sign on and data security
Experience using Agile methods to deliver software solutions
Experience with Jira and Confluence will be a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
10-15 years of experience
Or, equivalent combination of experience and/or education
