The Global Finance Centres of Alstom are located in 3 cities – Cluj – Romania, Cebu – Philippines and Bangalore and employ nearly 650 people who perform both traditional accounting activities and certain controlling activities.

Group Procurement Finance Analyst

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

As a Group Procurement Analyst/Controller, you are a member of the dynamic Finance community and part of the GFC Organization serving as a trusted business partner to Procurement and supporting their executive management teams (mainly in France). You guarantee the financial transparency of the Procurement Savings while spending time advising on the financial and control implications of Procurement activities. You are not just a technical expert, you operate at a strategic level, providing financial support insights to support decision making.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position will be based in Bangalore and will support Group Procurement Finance Organization in Paris, France

The role involves collecting, analyzing and managing quantitive data and creating meaningful insights that enable decision support for the Procurement function.

• Partnering with the procurement organization to identify and monitor external savings (negotiations, others) and reconciliation with P&L to ensure flow through.
• Challenge of Group Procurement performance and function costs
• Supplier risk assessment & Finance support for Suppliers’ panel analytics, including Review of Supplier Financials
• Provide support and coordination with the P2P operations and GFC’s to ensure cash management objectives are met at critical quarter phases.
• Identification of opportunities to drive standardization across Procurement Finance operations.
• Identification of Best Practices across Sites and deployment across all Regions

Customer :

The role involves high visibility and interactions with Directors and Senior leaders in Procurement Operations and Finance (mainly in France) and global collaboration on certain topics. Ability to manage expectations of the leadership team and key stakeholders is critical.

• Constantly listen to the voice of procurement team and stakeholders and convert them to improvement actions
• Act as the business partner to the HQ Procurement organization
• Participate in governance with the regions/sites on various procurement topics
• Build and maintain healthy rapport and trust with all up-stream and down-stream stake-holders to the processes in the regions

In this role, you are expected to build effective working relationships across Procurement and Operational Finance teams as part of the GFC Organization based in Bangalore.

EXTERNAL : Interactions with some suppliers may be required

Qualifications & Skills:

EDUCATION

Cost or Chartered Accountant, business administration degree or equivalent combination of training.

Language: English (mandatory), French is an added advantage

Organizational Reporting & timezone support

The Procurement analyst hierarchically reports to the GFC Finance Organization Manager based in Bangalore. 

Time zone : 1 to 10 PM (aligned with France HQ organization where key stakeholders are based).

EXPERIENCE / SKILL SET

• Atleast 5-8  years of experience in manufacturing/project industry is préférable
• Expert knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint
• Hands on experience in Tools (Power BI, QlikSense and other AI) will be an advantage
• Strong in presentation and communication skills
• Good general knowledge of IFRS
