Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a principal Software Test Engineer in our Research and Design department to work on a variety of measurement applications in the fields of high performance to fuel efficient engines, aerospace, photovoltaics, smart phone lens modules, the latest Digital SLR camera optics and the fast growing area of Intraocular lenses.

The successful candidate will be responsible for testing new software products as well as the extensions to existing established products at the Taylor Hobson office in Bangalore. You will be a team leader, with a desire to work in a mutli disciplined fast moving engineering environment and have a fundamental interest in technology. Training will be provided, where appropriate, in order to meet the skills and knowledge specified below.
Position Requirements:
What skills do I need to have?

• 5+ years of experience of testing medium to large software applications created for the PC desktop developed using C++/C#/WPF.
• Responsibility for, and creation of, complete software test cycle: planning, specification, execution, reporting, tracking.
• Testing software to prove that it is robust and reliable software.
• Able to create and execute test specifications.
• Testing software that controls hardware, especially instrumentation and motion.
• Able to create a suite of automatic tests.

It would be great if you have some experience of:

• Testing of algorithms in a scientific/instrumentation environment.
• Knowledge of the operation of CAD systems and 3D modelling
• Experience of testing UI/UX, including automation
• Appreciation of the interaction between software and the electronics/mechanics within a company’s products.
• Experience of leading a small team
• JIRA, Perforce, NUnit and Kinook’s VisualBuild.
• Analysis of requirements and creative test solutions and designs to meet these requirements.
