Job Description
As a Data
Engineer at Databricks, you’ll play a crucial role in transforming raw data
into actionable insights for life sciences applications. Your expertise in data
engineering, cloud technologies, and domain-specific knowledge will drive
innovation and accelerate scientific discoveries. Here’s what you’ll be
responsible for:
Architecture:
- Collaborate with data
scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data
requirements and provide appropriate solutions. - Implement best practices
for data governance, security, and compliance. - Develop and maintain
comprehensive documentation for data processes and architectures.
- Utilize Databricks platform
to address big data challenges. - Work on end-to-end design,
build, and deployment of industry-leading big data and AI applications. - Implement transformational
projects, including 3rd-party migrations and reference architectures.
- Proficiency in Apache
Spark™, Kafka, and Cloud Native technologies. - Strong experience in the
Databricks ecosystem. - Comfortable writing code in
Python or Scala. - Familiarity with SQL
Engines and performance tuning. - Knowledge of data modeling
principles (including Dimensional modeling).
- Understand life sciences
data, including genomics, clinical trials, and healthcare datasets. - Apply domain-specific
knowledge to optimize data pipelines and analytics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. - 4+ years of experience in a
customer-facing post-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role. - Experience working across
cloud platforms (GCP / AWS / Azure). - Documentation and white
boarding skills.
