Accountant / Sr Accountant

We are looking for Accountant/Sr Accountant professional to handle international accounting and controllership. This person will be responsible for Accounting and Finance controllership activities. This person will report into the Accounting Manager.

• Handle end to end accounting for international legal entities in the Asia/ Africa/EU regions

• Work with country based local teams to successfully transition processes in house to India

• Coordinate on a regular basis within country compliance and tax firms, and AA Inc Tax team, to ensure timely filings for VAT /WHT (TDS) / IT returns as applicable

• Coordinate with International Payroll team to ensure accurate accounting for the monthly employee payroll processing, and for off cycle payroll processing and accounting

• Support manager in actively helping make month end closing deadlines in time

• Preparation, review and approval of balance sheet accounts reconciliations.

• Analysis of key P&L accounts to ensure correct accounting for accruals and spends, both OpEx and CapEx

• Preparation of monthly Flux analysis and selective deep dive reviews to ensure compliance with global accounting policies and US GAAP

• Handling PBC requests timely for Statutory and Tax audits, and lead identified areas in the audits to interact with the auditors.

• Assist team management to gather BOT requirements to automate routine transactions and various other systems initiatives

• Support the team management on multiple accounting and finance activities for local statutory compliance and US GAAP as needed.

Job Requirements:

This job requires the ability to work, adapt and evolve in a fast-paced environment, working under deadlines, and interacting with multiple contacts in different time zones. High sense of urgency, dedication, and the ability to get things done fast is critical for this role. Additional requirements are:

• Good communication skills to keep others informed of process progress and escalations

• Strong experience in accounting following US GAAP principles; knowledge of local GAAPs of any other international regions is a plus

• Systems savvy with good understanding of ERPs like Oracle, SAP, WorkDay and SaaS Accounting Systems and how to extract, organize and analyze data (Power Point, Advance Excel, etc.).

• Ability and experience of interacting with Statutory and Tax auditors for timely audit completion

• Team player, self-motivated, ability to multi-task and prioritize.

• Flexible to change assignments as priorities are shifting

• Keen eye to evaluate automation opportunities and identifying efficiency measures

• Working hours would be either India shift or UK shift depending on the role

Education and Experience:

• Chartered Accountant with 2-3 (Accountant) / 4-6 (Sr Accountant) years of progressive experience in Accounting and Controllership including, General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, AP, Taxation, Consolidation etc.

• R2R in US GAAP

• Handling multiple legal entities and international accounting closing
