Job Description:

As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering you are expected to serve as technical resource manager and authority over multiple scrum teams, initiate organization level initiatives and drive team or product imperatives with complete ownership. will be accountable for architectural decisions and functions across Cerner. You will create technical vision and strategy for the organization that aligns with Cerner’s business objectives. You should anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges through short and long-term planning and oversee large- scope projects and cross-functional team dependencies. Your responsibilities include developing a long-term technical road map to determine continual revenue and/or cost optimization strategies and reinforce and promote engineering culture and values across the organization and Cerner.

As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering you will seek to understand disagreements, ensure all perspectives are heard and facilitate a plan for resolution. You will delegate the work appropriately, provide clear expectations and follow up to ensure progress and overcome roadblocks. Identify associates and team priorities based on business direction and adjust when needed. You will be expected to lead by example and share knowledge and experiences with associates and teams. Create a respectful work environment where you advocate for your team, create accountability, and recognize their accomplishments. In this role, you will provide timely feedback to encourage success, ensure accountability, and connect opportunities for your associates’ development and identify the right talent to achieve the desired results. Promote and build a diverse cohesive team to accomplish objectives and align associates’ skills to fill gaps.

Basic Qualification:

• At least 10 years total combined higher education and related work experience, including:

• 3 years software engineering work experience

• 7 years higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job including:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

Preferred Qualification:

• At least 14 years of experience in Software engineering

• At least 14 years of experience in Millennium Architecture, Interoperability (HL7 etc.), Java Spring framework
