About the Team:

• Confluent is experiencing explosive growth and this is an exciting opportunity to be one of the founding members of a new team being established in India. This new team will partner with our US-based team to bring a Cloud-Native, complete experience for Data in Motion to our customers’ self-hosted private cloud use cases everywhere they need them.

• This new team will own key components of Confluent Control Center (C3) and Confluent for Kubernetes (CFK). Backend engineers on this team will get to work on a set of diverse and complex challenges spanning our Java-based C3 backend components, storage layer, license management, configuration, and testing framework. As the team scales, engineers will make meaningful contributions to our CFK roadmap; and help in building CFK, our declarative cloud-native control plane for deploying and managing Confluent on Kubernetes infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of industry experience designing, building and supporting backend systems in production with a solid grasp of good software engineering practices

• Strong programming and algorithmic skills. Proficiency in a major programming language, e.g. Java, Go, C / C++, Python, etc.

• Experience running production services in Public Clouds, with a drive towards quality, accuracy, and operational excellence

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience

What Gives You an Edge:

• Experience with Java, Python, and automation tooling

• Experience with Go and Kubernetes

• Familiarity with using Cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure

• Solid understanding of systems operations (disk, network, operating systems, etc.)

• Familiarity with Kafka
