Job Description
Responsibilities
Should be able to create and maintain the necessary test environments for smooth execution of testing activities.
Should be able to publish traceability matrices, test reports etc. as per need in the project.
Should be able to log the defects and track them till completion.
Works closely with development team and other validation engineers in conflict resolution and identify the root cause of the defects.
Evaluate and recommend improvements for testing processes and tools.
Participate in the reviews – test plans, test results, defects
Essential skills
Skills to develop sprint test plan, design test strategy, test cases, test data & requirements traceability matrices independently.
Should be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
Should be able to set up test environment.
Should be able to review project design documents, plans, strategies ,risks etc.
Should have experience in agile and water fall development methodologies.
Should be able to raise & track defects with fault diagnosis .
Should be able to perform integration and end-2-end solution testing.
Should be able to collaborate with project teams on project specific goals
Should be able to mentor the team.
Should be able to conduct retrospective meetings independently for process improvements.
People and Project Management Skills
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
High-levels of commitment to work even in uncertain and changing project requirements
Ability to take full ownership of testing the assigned functional modules
Proven ability and strong desire to deliver projects on time with the desired quality
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meeting the respective schedules and deadlines
Strong ability to work across geographically spread teams with different skill-sets
Technology Skills
Prior experience in:
Microsoft SQL Server : installation, configuration and authoring of SQL queries
Oracle Database server : installation, configuration and authoring of SQL queries
Prior experience in using test management platforms – preferably Microsoft VSTS/Test Manager / TFS /VSTS or HP ALM.
Strong knowledge of a version control system SVN, Bitbucket or GIT. Preferably GIT .
Understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies
Experience:
Around 6 years of software testing
Education
BE/ B. Tech /M Tech/ MCA
